The waters around Timor Leste teem with Turtles, which are occasionally  hunted for meat.

There are hundreds of remote beaches in  Timor Leste, where they nest, including the beaches on the west side of Atauro Island.

These eggs were for sale in the Dili fish market, looking and feeling remarkably like ping  pong balls.

The turtles lay  their eggss particularly when their is  a full moon.
